The Port Stephens Yacht Club is the focus for sailing activities on and around Port Stephens. The  clubhouse is in Ridgeway Avenue, Soldiers Point, adjacent to marina and launching ramp facilities. The clubhouse overlooks a protected mooring area and the marina.   The Club offers bar facilities, kitchen, bathroom, and function space for members, guests, and crews of visiting yachts.

Founded in 1971 by a small group of cruising yachtsmen, the first meetings were held in one of the members homes in Maitland (a country town about one hour's drive away!)

We now have over 350 members, over 200 of them social.   We have a licensed bar and an upstairs function room.   We race on Wednesday afternoons and on Saturdays and our after race get togethers provide a great forum for post mortems and general fellowship.   

We sail in a mixed fleet with Hood 23's, and Etchells being the main class yachts with a number of other yacht of various sizes and designs making up our 20 to 30 starters most days
